No.
We update our software from time to time with new features, bug fixes, and improvements to accuracy and robustness in the eye tracking algorithms. However, FOVE will never require you to update your software.
The FOVE SDK included with content (such as content made in Unity), works with an equivalent or newer version of the FOVE Runtime. This means if you update content, you may need to update the run time. Newer runtimes are backwards compatible with older content.
We encourage people to use the latest version, especially if they are reporting bugs, but it is perfectly acceptable to use any older version that is suitable to your needs.
In fact, if you are running a clinical trial or scientific study, we recommend to not update FOVE software during the study, because changes in the eye tracking algorithms could affect the results.
Old versions are available online at the original link location, but if you intend to use the same version for a while, keep a backup locally just in case. Here are some older software releases from FOVE:

On rare occasions, an update to Windows or your graphics drivers could break compatibility with already-released FOVE software. This can happen to any software, but to our knowledge, this has only happened once since we released in 2017.
