I pre-ordered the Fove headset.
C++ samples are pre-requisite for my purposes, and I suspect I have that in common with many others.
I originally asked about C++ samples and was told if I remember correctly that someone was going to start working on this in December 2016.
Quite frankly, that made me very concerned indeed!
One developer working on support samples for a head-set, starting in December? I am aware that underlying libraries are written in C++, but even so, this strikes me as being (1) massively under-resourced in terms of developers and (2) massively underestimating the time and work-load involved.
I previously worked for Havok, and worked for 5 years at SEGA in Tokyo on in-house middleware. I also have about 10 years experience working with the 3D Studio Max SDK.
I would estimate that properly documenting and writing C++ samples for the Fove headset is at LEAST two man-years of work.
Fove appears to have only one developer working on this and they started in December 2016.
This is a huge concern to me, and I suspect to many professional developers.
Specifically, when will the C++ SDK with samples and documentation be made available?
Why do you only have one programmer working on this?
Very very concerned.
