I could get some first ideas implemented using the current possibilities of the Unity plugin.
However I also discovered some issues:
- The eye rays calculated from the tracking data are not stable when the eyes are almost closed.
So I would like to ignore the tracking data in that case but I would need an eye aperture % value (see missing features below) and not just true and false.
- I wonder if some kind of smoothing or multisampling of the eye tracking data could improve the tracking accuracy in tradeoff additional latency and if that could be provided by FOVE out of the box.
- Ability to retrieve the pupil size for each eye [mm].
- Aperture for each eye [0% = fully closed, 100% = fully open]
