    Hello,

    Setup.exe OK
    HMD connected : OK
    Camera connected : OK
But I have the same problem as this post https://support.getfove.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000829868-staring-at-green-dot .
The star field for a few second (great view by the way !!!), the green dot then (the only difference) a message blinking indicating "Eye Tracking inactive". This message is over the "look at the green dot' when you try a calibration.
I try to activate it by stopping the runtime, then changing the setting in the Configuration menu. But no success.

    My dxdiag https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2NOAvFkaxNiVVpuVFlXWVVLSFU

    My FoveLog https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2NOAvFkaxNiZHk4al9jNThNajQ

I can see images from the position camera but no image from the eye tracking.

A little, non blocking problem with the interface : no more camera image if you stop / start runtime from the config tool.
To see the camera images, stop the config tool, and start the runtime then start the config tool.

Even without the eye tracking, can I try the unity, c++ tests ?

    Hi Pat,

I've just signed a file with you via google drive again which should be replacement drivers for Fove EYES. I have 4 different versions to try out so don't worry if these don't work.

This should get eye images showing up in the configuration tool.

On the interface problem, the reason the images don't start again is because the tool only subscribes to the image feeds when you hit the expand button for the section. This means that when you restart the service, it has dropped the subscription. You can fix it by collapsing and expanding the image section again once the service has started.

To use any of the samples available, you're going to need to copy the d3dcompiler_47.dll file from your install directory to either system32 or beside the FoveClient.dll in each sample project. The reason for this is because the texture memory is created by the client and the API required to do that isn't supported natively in windows 7.

Hopefully that gets you going again.

So I seem to be having the same issue as Patrick.  When I run the config tool, Eye Image View shows "No Eye Camera Data".  The Position Image View correctly shows lights.  When I look through the headset I see the same gray screen and green dot with flashing "Eye Tracking Inactive".  Also windows doesn't seem to be detecting the headset as another monitor.  When I plug it into my Windows 10 laptop I was able to see it as another monitor.

@Ryan When I get in to the office tomorrow morning, I'll send you a different driver package to test. I need to find out which one works.

You'll hopefully get an email about 12 hours from now. Sorry for the delay but I don't have the files I need at home.

    Ryan and Patrick,

I just sent you new drivers for Fove Eyes in win 7 signed in a different way (you should have received an invite to a google docs file).
Please let me know on the forum if these work and i can add them to the installer package and share them with the rest of the group.

    Hello,

I unzipped FOVE_Eyes_win7_fove_256.zip  and ran the setup.exe without error (none in the details of installation).

But the device appears in error in the hardware manager because "Windows can not verify the digital signature of the drivers... (code 52)". The same as Fove_V35139903_Win7_20170118_fovesign7.zip.
    Sorry.

The driver is installed in Program File (x86), is this ok ?

    Regards,

    Pat

That is a surprise. I got a popup that asked if i wanted to trust a driver signed by Fove, i said yes and it continued without any trouble.

I'll test some more in windows 7 but this might require a re-install for me to test it properly.

    Drivers :

I had the popup asking if I wanted to install a driver from the Fove company too. I clicked on "Install".

In the case of Fove_V35139903_Win7_20170118_fovesign7, update via hardware manager, I had an error popup.

In the case of FOVE_Eyes_win7_fove_256.zip, using the setup.exe, no error.

In the 2 cases, the hardware manager shown an icon with a "!". In its properties, there is the error message.

(Before each manipulation, I had stopped Fove and exit it, uninstalled Fove Eyes and Fove. Then I reinstalled FOVE, then a driver. Is it enough for cleaning things ?)

I don't think it is linked, but in case, it'sabout boot / reboot of windows :
When I boot windows, I have to unplug the usb3 cable, else the boot freeze at the beginning.
When I reboot windows, the usb3 cable can stay plugged, no freeze of the system.

@Maz, I experience the same problem, at boot and after restarting the runtime, there's the short starfield, green dot and superimposed messages, "no eye camera data" in the Eye Image View. I had to (and confirmed) trust the FOVE drivers during installation.

So I installed the new driver package you sent, and I no longer see the gray screen when I plug in the headset.  I see stars and am able to look around the starfield.  However, when I open up Fove Config Tool, the eye image view still displays "no eye camera data".  I then tried to stop compositor, stop runtime, and restart both.  Now I see the gray screen again.  Here's the log:

Update:I magically started seeing the starfield again after restarting and reinstalling, but still showing no eye camera data

     @Ryan

In "Device Manager" do you see "Fove EYES" in imaging devices and is that working correctly? And if you open the properties for it, who does it say is your "Driver Provider" in there?

  • Avatar
    Ryan Shi

    Driver Provider: FOVE, Inc.
    Driver Date: 1/18/2017

    Driver Version: 3.5.13.9903

    Digital Signer: FOVE, Inc.
It says "This device is working properly" under status.

    thanks for the info.

So the camera driver is loaded and working, but no eye images are coming out? That's weird. have you restarted since you installed those drivers?

  • Avatar
    Ryan Shi

I tried restarting my computer and now its showing the exclamation point with Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required message under Device Status in Device Manager (Code 52).

A side note: I did notice my Intel USB 3.0 drivers were not installed so I did install them, but it made no difference.

    Specs:
    GeForce GTX 970
    Driver Version 378.49
    Intel Core i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00 GHz
    15.91 GB RAM

Interestingly when I use the original windows 7 install file, it doesn't show up as an exclamation point and displays:

    FOVE Eyes
    Driver Provider: Microsoft
    Driver Date: 6/21/2006
    Driver Version 6.1.7601.18208

    Digital Signer: Microsoft Windwos

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both drivers and doesn't seem to have any effect to eye camera data.

Also, my motherboard is ASUS Hero Maximus VIII, not sure if that matters.  I did update all my USB drivers from ASUS again.

So I'm going to reinstall windows 7 today and keep track of everything I do.

The Fove EYES cameras are currently working for me so there is hope. If I reinstall and can get them to break, I can find a solution that works for everyone else as well.

We have 2 more driver packages left to try..

I'm experiencing pretty much the same as Ryan - if you want to have another package tried, I'd be happy to take it.

    Hello,

I looked at the detail files of Fove Eyes in device manager.

    - For the original driver there was 2 files and both signed :
    c/Windows/System32/drivers/ksthunk.sys and c/Windows/System32/drivers/usbvideo.sys
The popup asking to install the driver showed an icon of an usb cable (for usb bus controler)

    - For the last driver there was a lot of files but only one file signed:
    c/Windows/System32/drivers/ksthunk.sys
In the popup, the icon was a camera / scanner (for acquisition device)

Otherwise, I found strange to have the files c/Windows/System32/DextUVCB_x64.ax in a System32 directory
and c/Windows/SysWOW64/DextUVCB.ax in the windows on windows 64 directory
I would have though the contrary...

But I'm absolutly not an expert, just keeping doing something...

    sorry...

On 64-bit windows, System32 constains the 64-bit files. WOW64 stands for "Windows on Windows" and it is Microsoft's way of running 32-bit applications on 64-bit Windows.
I am in Windows 7 right now (using an awful old version of IE to post here) and I've managed to replicate the cameras not working. Going to reboot and see what happens.
