Seeking developer impressions

Well I've only had it for a day, but preliminarily, I'm very impressed. I spent the last year and a half of my undergrad modding a DK2 for eye tracking with a pair of Raspberry Pis and my own eye tracking algorithm. While I am very proud of that project, this blows me out of the water (shocking, I know). The eye tracking seems robust, the API is well documented, and the FOVE team is active on these forums. As a bonus, there is a built-in convergence algorithm, which works really well for such an early build. For my work, at least, this is vital, and while I've spend a long time working my own algorithm, the FOVE one works just as well, and with a wider variety of facial anatomies.

On the other hand, the first time I plugged the FOVE into my computer, my rig crashed. Hard. Could barely scrape past the BIOS, couldn't find a restore point, the whole 9 yards. Turns out I had a bad USB panel, but it took me awhile to figure that out and I was in full panic mode for nearly two hours. Fortunately, I didn't lose any work, and that USB panel has been removed. So there's that. Everything is just fine now, though.
