Does it happen when the headset is far away from the camera (in the z-axis)?

We are only still aware of problems with position tracking 'losing' the headset when it is far away from the camera's position in the z-axis. If what you are saying is that position tracking also 'loses' the headset when it is close to the camera, we have to investigate that. Do you have any examples of that?

Is there any official guidance on the "ideal" placement of the tracking camera?  Specifically, when the headset is at "center" (as calibrated from the config tool), what is:

    * The ideal distance between the camera and the headset

    * The ideal angle to mount the camera from the center (both the veritical and horizontal angle)

I've experience similar tracking issues as mentioned here where the view in VR randomly turns 90 degrees on one axis for a split second, as though the tracking camera got confused for a second.  I've tried mounting at various positions:

    * between 2 and 4 feet away, directly in front of the headset

    * 1 - 3 feet mounted at ~ 90 degree angle both vertically and horizontally

Some of the positions perform better than others, so I'd like to know if there's an ideal position I should be striving for.

    thanks!
