    Hi, to force extended mode you can do the following. We sometimes use this for internal R&D.

    Please note that you should return to direct mode for performant VR experience, extended mode is officially not suggested.

    1. Shut down your service
    2. Right click on the fove tray
    3. Configuration -> Edit Config File

    In there insert the following

    KEEP_COMPOSITOR_ALIVE=FALSE
    COMPOSITOR_DISPLAY_MODE=1

    Just delete it when you are done. Please do not use extended mode for anything except prototyping, it is easy enough to send textures to our compositor.

    Cheers,

    Lochlainn (Fove)

    Hi Lochlainn,

    I followed your steps above, and now the FOVE is displaying in extended mode. However, when I look inside the HMD, the left eye displays the left 1/3 portion of the extended "screen," and the right eye displays the right 1/3 portion of the extended "screen." Is there a way to force both eye displays to display the same image? Say for example, I want to watch a movie with the FOVE using force extended mode.

    My application: I am using a software (Process Simulate) that outputs the line of sight of a virtual human in a window. I want to send that window to the extended display (the FOVE). I am using a motion capture system to acquire the movement (rotation and translation) of the FOVE. The same mocap system is capturing my body motion.

    thanks
