    Hi Roy

The beta was closed unfortunately, however our next release 0.12 which is coming real soon will support windows 7. Please hang in there.

So what's with this W7 support? Fove works fine on my W10 laptop, but I use that primarily with Rift. I'd like to use Fove with a lesser-powered W7 laptop (I'm not upping the OS).

    Shouldl I stop hanging?

    Hello,

Since 0.12.0, the setup.exe can be used for windows 7 users too.

Oh right. Fove is recognised and 'lights up' when plugged in. But it's a very bright light, speckled with multicoloured dots and a vertical black stripe in the middle. I've tried various fixes and I'm wondering if it could be due to it being an Optimus laptop.

Apart the vertical black stripe, it looks like you have the default FOVE display, the star sky, with nebula.

If it is not, I let the FOVE team help you on this, sorry I'm just a windows 7 user.

    Regards

No, it's completely different from the nebular display.

Thanks for your input. If I can't get resolution here, I'll email Fove

    edit:

in the log "AMD not found"

"failed to find direct mode backend"
