    Hi Alex,

Sorry for the late reply. OpenGL support is on our roadmap but will not be coming soon. Can you use SteamVR to accomplish your desires?

If not you can consider trying openGL interop extensions.

    Hi,

Thanks for your answer. SteamVR might be an option, as we already have a functioning Vive plugin using SteamVR. I assume the vr::TextureType_OpenGL texture type is supported when submitting frames to the compositor?

What do I need to make the FOVE work with SteamVR? Is eye tracking supported natively or do I have to use both APIs (SteamVR and your own) concurrently to get this?

We had some issues with DX interop creating sync issues when using OpenGL GPU multicast recently for a different use case (which remained unsolved) and I don't think we can justify spending more dev time on this approach.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

We are currently working on releasing a variation of our plugin that can support SteamVR and FoveSDK natively, without using our compositor. Please be patient, hopefully it won't take long. Are you able to wait? - I could possibly send you a beta otherwise...

    Cheers,

    Lochlainn

    Hi

Depends on how long the wait would be. I would certainly be interested in a beta, if available. VR with eye tracking is a big thing for some of our larger customers in consumer behavior research. As such, we're currently evaluating technologies and approaches, so to schedule dev time and allocate resources to this project for the second half of 2017. The sooner we get something to try, the better, as it might become complicated to allocate resources to it later on.

I'll be out of office next week, but after that I would be happy to try a beta and see how it works with our engine.

    Best regards
    Alex
