Have the developers left us?

I have been wondering the same.

We've been a backer for this product from the start and I was really excited when I got the FOVE 0. But the complete lack of developer support is a really troubling. A product like the FOVE needs developers in order to exist on this extremely competitive market. In fact, they should literally be chasing after developers right now. The fact that there is total silence on their side and we don't even get a simple reply to even the most simple questions is really disappointing.

From our side (we create simulation software for consumer research, retail, etc) I think we will put potential FOVE development on indefinite hold and rather see what Tobii and others have (or will have) to offer on existing well supported headsets. Given the circumstances, I just can't justify to schedule RnD time or any other resources on this headset, seeing that there is zero communication from the side of FOVE, no development roadmap, no functioning SDK, nothing.

Such a shame. This is a very promising product.

    Hi Marcus and Alex,

I am really sorry for us to have caused you to have this impression. I will assess our internal situation and allocate more time to developer support.

We are in the process of making a new release, our sprints last one month. Currently SDK 0.12.0 is slightly behind schedule due to a couple of regressions we caught in our first QA pass.

There are significant improvements to Eye Tracking and Position tracking in this release, I really hope that we can turn things around for you guys so that you can explore the potential of Fove as we intended.

To get things started I will personally review all pending support questions and ask our team to make a public facing roadmap.

    Best Regards,

    Lochlainn Wilson.

    Hi,

Just to give you a bit more information, we're working on 4 week sprints now to sync things with other teams so that roughly every 4 weeks you should get a new release which includes any firmware, research, and sdk features as well as updated or new content.

We will continue to refine our processes and determine if this is the ideal schedule for everyone. We need to find a balance between responsiveness and planning overhead.

    Thanks for your support.
