I saw Jeremy mention that Leap Motion sensors have to be mounted in a way that doesn't obscure the IR LED's in this forum post: https://support.getfove.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115007223793-FOVE-Accessories-Clarification
Do you have any details about attaching the Leap Motion in such a way? I played around with shifting the Leap Motion around, but it seems that I cannot avoid occluding at least one of the IR LED's, especially because of the USB cable coming out of the Leap Motion.
Also, when I look at the IR image given by the position tracking camera in Fove Debugging Tools, I see that Leap Motion gives off a set of large IR glares that look more problematic than covering up one of the IR LED's. My understanding is that the Oculus and Vive also use IR LED's for positional tracking, and yet they don't seem to have as much trouble with Leap Motion being attached in the front. I am curious if this is because there are a "key set" of IR LED's that the Fove's positional tracking relies on in the front.
I am using Fove for a research project, and I really need to fix this issue, because I cannot risk the test subjects getting motion sick when the positional tracking bounces around (also reduces the quality of captured data). Thank you for your help.
