I've noticed a bug in the latest runtime version 0.16.0. I've had several users experience it multiple times.
Sometimes, an instance of the FOVE Runtime Service process will be left hanging, causing the FOVE Debug Tool to display "Stop Runtime", while the FOVE Tray indicates that runtime is off. Neither the FOVE Tray nor the Debug Tool can stop/start runtime when this happens, and the screen in the HMD stays black.
In order to fix this, you simply have to go to task manager and kill the existing FOVE Runtime Service process. This is a minor inconvenience as a developer, but it completely stops users from using the goggles at times, and we've received several support calls about it.
I can't consistently recreate it, but it seems to happen when the computer/laptop is restarted with the HMD plugged in and with runtime on. Next time it happens to me personally, I'll attach a log file, but at this time I don't have one available. Sorry!
